Freedie Freeman has already had a ton of big hits vs. the Mets in his promising young career

The Atlanta Braves locked up 1B Freddie Freeman to an 8-year deal worth $135 million. Only 24-years old, Freeman has already established himself as a Met killer. Freeman vs. current Met pitchers has hit .289 with six homers in just 97 career at bats. (According to ESPN Stats)  Mets fans will have to deal with Freeman for a long time.

Freeman had an MVP caliber year for the NL East Champs. He hit .319 with a .396 OBP, 23 homeruns and 109 RBI’s. With all the great young pitching around the game now, those numbers shouldn’t be taken for granted.

It seemed like the Mets were finally in the clear from the Braves after Chipper Jones retired and Brian McCann left in free agency to the Yankees. Now Freeman is next in line for a decade of torturing the Amazins and the Mets will just have to figure out a way to get him out.

Steve – If the Mets truly have a “pipeline” of young stud pitchers coming up with Matt Harvey returning ASAP then good pitching still wins over good hitting all the time. Freddie Freeman is not an exception to that time tested rule. Therefore, I fully expect the Mets to reel in Freddie Freeman real soon and I expect him to stay reeled in. Mike
