Well it’s official. Matt Harvey was named NL starter in the All-Star game by Giants manager Bruce Bochy. “Having the opportunity to take the ball is something ill never forget, especially at home. I’m extremely thankful.” Matt Harvey said in his All-Star game press conference on MLB Network.

“He {Harvey} will be limited to 100-120 pitches” during the All-Star game Bochy said to reporters jokingly.

“What a tremendous year he’s had,” Bochy said. “It really wouldn’t have mattered what city we were playing in with the year he had.”

Harvey was the best starter in the National League during the first half of the season going 7-2 with a 2.35 ERA with an NL leading 147 strikeouts in 130 innings.

Max Scherzer was named as the AL starter and went 13-1 with a 3.19 ERA this season.

It should be a very fun game on FOX Tuesday night at 7:30 at Citi Field.

My money would be on the National League. With all that great pitching on the roster, it will be difficult for the AL to score a lot of runs.
