The Mets plan to recall Ike Davis from Las Vegas before Friday’s game against the Brewers.

In 21 games since being demoted to the minor leagues, Davis has hit .293 with seven home runs and 13 RBI.

Ike was hitting just .161 when he was demoted a few weeks ago. It remains to be seen if he made enough adjustments in his swing to be a capable major league first basemen.

Josh Satin will be going to the bench now despite hitting very well as a starter.

Satin will get occasional reps against tough lefties at first and play on occasion at second base.

The Mets will be facing a great deal of right hand pitching from now until the All-Star game.

Are the Mets promoting Ike Davis too soon?
