The Mets plan on adding three pitchers on Tuesday. Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler as well as relievers Scott Atchison and Carlos Torres. Atchison was on a rehab assignment and will be activated Tuesday. Torres had an out clause in his deal with the Mets and after pitcher very well in Vegas the Mets decided to call him up so they wouldn’t lose him.

The Mets are beginning a five game series on Monday in Atlanta.

Torres is not on the 40- man roster which is now full so the Mets will have to remove someone from it.  This could very well mean three relievers being sent down or designated for assignment before the Mets activate the three pitchers.

Keep in mind that because of Tuesday’s double header, the moves don’t actually have to made until Wednesday because you are allowed 26 players in a double header now.

The Mets continue to try and mix and match with their bullpen with very limited success.

The only relievers that appear safe of not being sent down are Bobby Parnell, Brandon Lyon and Scott Rice.
