The wait is nearly over. The Mets plan on calling up top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler next Friday, June 14th to pitch at Citi Field against the Chicago Cubs.

The 14th should be past the Super Two deadline meaning Wheeler will only go to arbitration three times which is why the Mets have kept him in Triple A.

The Mets have not yet confirmed this yet as they want Wheeler to focus on his next minor league start. Plus with all the bad weather approaching the Mets could be forced to shake up their rotation plans but as of now Friday is the plan for Wheeler.

There is a good chance that tonight’s start for Wheeler vs. Triple A Tacoma (Mariners) could be his very last minor league start.

The Mets have sent out PR man Jay Horowitz to Vegas to prep Wheeler about handling New York. Jay is one of the nicest guys in the business and Wheeler is in good hands.
