With the Mets lack of right-hand hitting outfielders going into Spring Training, the Mets will give Justin Turner a look in the outfield this spring. Turner, 28, has played a solid second base and third base, when needed for the Mets. He also has shown he can play first base when needed so if Turner can show he can play a little corner outfield, it will make him even more of an asset for the Mets coming off the bench.

After coming up and playing well in 2011, Turner seemed like the lost man on the bench in 2012 so adding a little versatility will only help Turner’s chances of getting more plate appearances. Turner’s plate appearances in the outfield will likely depend on if the Mets are able to land another outfielder.
