After the Angels mega five year contract agreement with OF Josh Hamilton many have wondered what the Angels will do with all their outfielders. Obviously Mike Trout isn’t going anywhere but Kendry Morales, Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos; Vernon Wells are basically competing for two outfield spots plus DH. Buster Olney believes Trumbo isn’t available in a trade. “Other teams asked about Mark Trumbo, and been told that he’s not available; the Angels have said they are keeping him.”

Jon Heyman tweets: “Angels could also decide to trade Kendrys Morales instead of Bourjos and Trumbo since Morales is 1 yr from FA. Trumbo could DH.” Morales won’t fit the Mets as he is a designated hitter but Trumbo and Bourjos would. I don’t think the Angels would trade Mark Trumbo even in a deal for R.A. Dickey but Peter Bourjos could be available.

We have talked about Bourjos before but he would be a great fit for the Mets in centerfield. I believe Bourjos would hit enough to be a quality leaf off man and the Mets should see if the Angels will trade Bourjos since he really has no role with the Angels.images
